Oh boy ! I bet that if I ask this question in a meeting full of women, 99% of the hands would raise up ! Right, right?

I assume that some men would do as well! No jealous, folks! When it’s about ourselves and our identity, everybody gets a piece of the “cake”! 🙂

So, yes. This is a question that all of us have probably asked one day.

I asked myself this question a few days after the breaking up. For some of you who haven’t read my previous posts, here is a fresh reminder of my brokenness: I was supposed to get married on July 23rd, 2016 but my fiancé cancelled the wedding 3 weeks before the big day and broke up.

There is of course no wonder that I would face this tragic question somehow.

When it did hit my mind, it was hard to handle it because of course, this question doesn’t appear when you feel better and at the top of your “I-am-who-I-am-and-I-will-handle-this!”

Nope, of course this horrible question shows up in the midst of your worse days, when you are in the bottom of this big hole without any stairs to get out and BAMMMM like The Evil Queen in White Snow, you end up in front of a mirror but instead of asking  « Magic mirror in my hand, who is the fairest in the land? » your question is nothing else than “BUT-WHAT-IS-WRONG-WITH-ME???????!!!!!”

That day, I just remember falling in tears and whispering to myself all the worse things I could tell about who I am:

“I am not worth enough”

“I must have the worse temper ever for him not to fight for me”

“It’s my entire fault, I was too stressed in the last month of preparation before the big day and I should have shut my mouth instead of getting angry!”

“This is all I deserve anyway. Why someone like him would love someone like me?”

“Let’s go again for 2 years of depression and after all, why would it be different for my life? It seems that it is all what God has for me in storage anyway!”

“Why doesn’t he fight with me for our relationship and marriage to be? I really must be the problem and maybe will always be…”

And on, and on, and on…

But in between all these questions that were playing in my head, one small sparkle started shining and it’s up to us to catch it or not.

This small light was the reminder that God’s Word doesn’t say ANYTHING that I was saying to myself just above.

Not even a word that I was repeating to myself have come from God!!

You see dear reader, in time of trials, Satan will always use your mind and your thoughts to put you down!

He is the father of lie. He is able to put thoughts in your head and make you believe it actually comes from you!

Don’t ever believe these lies because this is not from God and this is not the plans God has for you! Jesus wants you to know you are loved! Remember that you are God’s creature and made into His image.

He knows you personally and chose you, so believe you are important for Him

Jeremiah 1:5

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

1 Peter 2:9

« But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession […] »

He loves you so much

1 John 3:1

« See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! […] »

1 Thessalonians 1:4

« We know, dear brothers and sisters, that God loves you and has chosen you to be his own people. »

1 John 4:16

« We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. […] »

Lamentations 3:22

« The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. »

Whatever you have done, there is no condemnation, the past is behind, sins are removed and great plans wait for you

Romans 8:1

« Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus »

Psalm 103:12

« As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our sins from us. »

Romans 8:28

« And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. »

John 10:10

« The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy, but I (Jesus) have come that you may have a rich and satisfying life. »

I am righteous and holy.

“And to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” Ephesians 4:24

I am saved by grace as a gift, not because of my performance and what I do.

“God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.” Ephesians 2:8

I am a radiate light wherever I go.

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.” Matthew 5:14

I shine like a firework in the night.

“Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky.” Philippians 2:15

I am a daughter / son of Light.

“You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness.”1 Thessalonians 5:5

I am the salt of the earth.

“You are the salt of the earth.” Matthew 5:13

I am a co-heir with Christ.

“Now if we are children, then we are heirs- heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ. If indeed we share in His sufferings in order that we may also share with His glory.” Romans 8:17

So yes, I have a temper. Yes I made mistakes in my relationship. Yes I am not perfect. As A.A. used to tell me “An old dog will need about 120 times to learn a new trick, I am this old dog”. Well, I am as well and I am still learning folks!

But I can tell you that whatever happens in our life that we are responsible for or not, we should not let Satan manipulate us.

We have a Heavenly Father who loves us no matter what. And no matter if someone doesn’t fight for us till the very end, God does it! God will always love us, will always help us to get better and will always be here for us.
